WHAT IS AIRCARE TRANSPORT?
AirCare Transport is a medical travel service designed to meet the varying needs of individuals who need medical care or mobility help while traveling.
HOW DOES THE SERVICE WORK?
AirCare Transport assists with all phases of travel and manages the entire process for you. After consulting with you and your health care provider, our Flight Coordinators will obtain the travel documents and medical orders necessary for your medical transport. We schedule ground transportation and manage communications between facilities, doctors, case managers, admissions personnel, airport terminals, ambulances and families.
WHAT AM I REQUIRED TO DO FOR THE TRIP?
When you schedule a trip, we will request the following information: To and from locations, sending and receiving doctor information, date and time you would like the patient to travel, and method of payment. AirCare Transport does everything else, giving you and your loved ones the " peace of mind " in knowing all your needs will be met.
HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU REQUIRE?
AirCare Transport is available around the clock to meet your transportation needs. We prefer as much notice as possible but can make the necessary arrangements immediately. If oxygen is required, most airlines require a minimum 48-hour advance notice.
WHAT IS THE COST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AIR CARE TRANSPORT AND AN AIR AMBULANCE?
Typically, someone can travel domestically for $900-$3,500 and internationally for $3,500-$8,500 depending on notice and distance traveled. Respectively, an air ambulance could range from $10,000-$90,000.
WHAT FORM OF PAYMENTSDOES AIR CARE TRANSPORT ACCEPT?
We accept payments such as money orders, bank wire drafts, cashiers checks, cash and all major credit cards. Some medical transports are reimbursed by insurance companies. Our insurance specialist will gladly work with you to obtain prior authorization from your insurance carrier.
WHAT MEDICAL EQUIPMENT DO YOU CARRY ON THE FLIGHTS?
According to new rules for aircraft registered in the United States, there must be1 to 4on-board first-aid kits and at least one emergency medical kit, depending on the number of passengers. In addition, each AirCare Transport nurse carries a backpack equipped with medical supplies.
CAN AIR CARE TRANSPORT ARRANGE FOR RETURN OF MY VEHICLE OR RV?
Yes, ask your AirCare Travel Specialist about our vehicle return service which can be arranged once your travel itinerary is confirmed. This generally takes several days after you arrive at your destination.
